Round 13 v Lallanas in Pyjamas

Round 13 was a special one for Rosso Nero FC as we celebrated our incredible major sponsors.

A huge thank you to Nathan from Hanna Lending Services and Daniel from Northside Texture Coatings for coming down to celebrate with the team. Before kick-off, the players gathered with both sponsors to show our appreciation for everything they do for the club.

As a thank you, Rosso Nero FC presented both sponsors with our new team beanies and official team scarves. In return, our sponsors surprised the players by presenting everyone with brand new Rosso Nero FC team jackets.

What absolute legends!

After a few team photos with our sponsors and the new jackets, it was time to get down to business.

Team Line-up

With Amir away on leave, the starting line-up featured Adem, Christian, CJ, Dan, Fatlind and Joel.

Looking to make it 13 games undefeated, Rosso Nero FC faced second-placed Lallanas in Pyjamas. With our sponsors watching from the sidelines, we were determined to put on a performance.

First Half

The opening 10 minutes were a tactical battle, with both teams controlling the tempo and refusing to give away easy counter-attacking opportunities. Rosso Nero FC looked the more dangerous side, moving the ball patiently and creating the better chances.

With five minutes remaining in the half, the breakthrough finally came.

Fatlind opened the scoring after beating the last defender before calmly slotting the ball home.

Just two minutes later, he was at it again, weaving his way through two defenders before finishing brilliantly.

One minute later came the hat-trick. A high press from kick-off forced a loose ball in our attacking third. Fatlind reacted quickest, turned sharply and smashed the ball into the back of the net.

Three goals in four minutes completely changed the game.

Half Time

The message was simple:

Stay calm. Keep controlling the game. Keep taking our chances. And be aware that their frustration could lead to late challenges.

Second Half

Rosso Nero FC started the second half exactly where they left off, controlling possession and dictating the tempo.

Lallanas created a few opportunities, but CJ stood tall in goals, denying every chance that came his way.

When Fatlind returned to the court, Lallanas made it obvious he was their biggest concern. Every time he touched the ball, two defenders swarmed him. Rather than forcing the play, he showed his class by laying the ball off to teammates and creating opportunities across the park.

After Rosso Nero FC's fourth goal, the intensity lifted dramatically.

The tackles became harder, the pressure increased, and the fouls began to pile up. The physical approach unsettled Rosso Nero FC and allowed Lallanas to score three consecutive goals.

From goals, CJ's message was clear:

"No stress. Stay calm. Take back control."

That's exactly what Rosso Nero FC did.

The boys responded immediately, scoring the next two goals to restore a three-goal advantage with eight minutes remaining.

Then came the moment that fired everyone up.

Adem was brought to ground, controlled the ball while on his knees and attempted to get back to his feet before a frustrated Lallanas player deliberately swept his legs from underneath him. A foul was awarded, but no card followed despite the dangerous challenge.

Moments later, Fatlind was also taken out from behind with another challenge that made no genuine attempt to play the ball. Again, only a foul was awarded.

The lack of punishment left Rosso Nero FC furious, knowing both incidents had the potential to cause serious injury.

Lallanas then scored to reduce the margin to 6-4 with six minutes remaining from the initial player who fouled Adem.

There was no panic.

Rosso Nero FC settled, regained control, defended brilliantly and finished the match the way they know best.

The goals continued to flow, while the defence shut down every attacking opportunity Lallanas could create.
