Rd 14 Match Report: Rosso Nero FC v Blue Lock

Squad Shake-Up & Fresh Vibes

Round 14 brought a major test for the squad depth. With four regular starters missing -Fatlind and Amir away on holiday, Dan tackling exams, and Joel tied up with work - we welcomed Sean, Marcus, and Arnie into the lineup.

This set the stage for a completely new rotation on the court: Adem, Arnie, Christian, CJ, Marcus, and Sean. Remarkably, it was the first time all six players had played together in the same match!

Despite the new setup, the pre-match vibes were positive as the lads got comfortable and built chemistry early.

First Half: A End-to-End Thriller (3–3)

The opening whistle set a furious pace. Rosso Nero FC controlled the tempo for the first five minutes, suffocating Blue Lock with intense ball pressure and firing shot after shot, though the opening goal eluded us.

Blue Lock capitalised on a fast break with three runners, netting at the far post when our tracking slipped. But there was no panic. The team responded immediately, carving open Blue Lock to equalize and then pressing hard right off the restart to snatch a 2–1 lead.

Blue Lock turned up the heat, repeatedly threatening out wide. Another back-post delivery saw them level the score, but again, Rosso Nero FC stood tall and struck back to regain the lead. Blue Lock hit back on the counter to make it 3–3.

Before the break, we had three incredible opportunities to pull ahead:

A brilliant save by their keeper.

A strike rattling the upright.

A shot scraping the outside of the post.

Half-Time Message: Simple and direct - track the wing runners on defense and clinical finish our chances.

Second Half: Woodwork & Tough Breaks

If the first half was tight, the second half was a story of fine margins and relentless counter-attacks.

We started strong, but luck was simply not on our side. In short order:

A potential goal bounced off the inside of the post and cleared out.

Christian unleashed an absolute rocket that smashed the inside of the top corner - only to bounce back out into play.

Meanwhile, Blue Lock made their clinical breaks count. Exploiting space out wide and catching our defense on the turn, they stretched the lead to 5–3, then 6–3, eventually taking the game 8–3. Every time we pushed forward, their keeper pulled off key saves, and their rapid transition play proved lethal.

It just wasn't our night in front of goal - the ball refused to cross the line, while Blue Lock made every attack count.

Note on Media: Unfortunately, there are no video highlights for this round as recording was paused for the week (despite requests from both sides).

This marks our first loss of the season after 14 rounds. While the second half got away from us, the post-match sportsmanship was outstanding, with the boys showing great class in congratulating Blue Lock on a well-played game.
