Round 5 saw another strong performance from Rosso Nero FC as we faced off against East Africans in a fast-paced, high-pressure clash.
A special night for the club as Northside Texture Coatings owner attended the match, with pre-game photos taken to showcase the new sponsor logo proudly displayed on our match shirts.
The squad also gathered for a team photo with our sponsor and coach before kick-off.
We also welcomed Mazen, making his official Rosso Nero FC debut. Great to have you on board.
Unfortunately, Joel was a late out after suffering an injury at work earlier in the day. Wishing Joel a speedy recovery and hoping to see him back soon.
From the opening whistle, East Africans came with a clear mission — become the first side to knock off Rosso Nero FC. Their high pressure and one-on-one man marking were evident immediately, while their ability to counterattack with speed created danger early.
The first goal of the game came against the run of play. After Rosso Nero FC had a shot saved, East Africans broke quickly on a 3 v 2 counter and managed to sneak the finish past CJ and between Dan and the post. 1-0 down, but there was no panic.
The response was immediate.
Next attack — goal. Amir finishing calmly with his left foot.
Next attack — goal again. Ferati finding the net.
Then from our high press, Christian stole possession and slotted home into a near open net.
Within six minutes, Rosso Nero FC had turned the game around and led 3-1.
East Africans continued to fight hard and once again broke quickly from a save, this time on a 3 v 1 counter. The final pass switched sides of the court and despite CJ nearly getting a hand to it, they pulled one back to make it 3-2.
Again, the team stayed composed. We controlled possession, moved the ball well and struck again to restore the two-goal advantage.
East Africans refused to go away though, scoring another quick counterattack goal to keep the match alive.
At half time Rosso Nero FC held a narrow 4-3 lead.
The message during the break was simple: keep going, finish our chances, and the game would open up.
That is exactly what happened.
The moment of the night came early in the second half. After a high press won the ball near halfway, Christian flicked the ball over the defence and Ferati produced an outrageous first-time volley over his own shoulder, smashing the ball into the top corner. An unbelievable finish and one worth watching back on YouTube.
From there, East Africans pushed hard but could not break through the defence or beat the keeper. Rosso Nero FC continued to attack wave after wave, only denied repeatedly by their goalkeeper who produced save after save.
Eventually the pressure broke through again. Amir added his second with a classy no-look finish at the near post to make it 6-3.
The final goal went to Christian, sealing another victory and keeping Rosso Nero FC undefeated.
A complete team performance with clinical finishing, skilful attacking football and relentless pressure throughout the night.
Rosso Nero FC now sits top of the table with the most goals scored in the competition.
A big welcome again to Mazen on making his full debut for the club.
Thank you to our sponsors Hanna Lending Services and Northside Texture Coatings for your ongoing support.
Hopefully we see you all again next week when Rosso Nero FC takes on Ravioli.
