Rd 8 v NeoCats

Round 8 Match Report – Rosso Nero FC v NeoCats (The week we walked in with five… and still owned the night.)

The Chaos Before Kickoff

Seven players confirmed.

A full squad. A calm Thursday. Then game day arrived — and the script flipped.

Joel: called into work.

Maz: called into work.

Ferati: scrambled to organise Drill for his second game just to get us to six. And then…

Minutes before kickoff…

Amir out.

Rosso Nero FC walked onto the court with five:

Cj, Christian, Dan, Drill, Ferati. No subs.

No margin for error.

Across from us?

NeoCats — desperate for revenge after we’d beaten them twice in the dying seconds of previous clashes. The message before kickoff was simple:

Take our chances. Drop and defend. Give them nothing easy.

First Half – Cj a Brick Wall and Rosso Nero FC Storm

Kickoff. NeoCats came out swinging. First chance: top‑corner rocket… Cj saves it. Second chance: another strike… Cj saves again, then launches a long ball to Ferati.

One touch. One finish.

1–0 Rosso Nero FC.

Third chance: NeoCats again… Cj’s foot denies them. And that was the moment Rosso Nero FC woke up. What followed was 10 minutes of pure, ruthless, beautiful futsal:

Goal – Ferati

Goal – Drill

Goal – Ferati

Goal – Christian

Goal – Ferati

Goal – Dan

Goal – Ferati

8–0.

Five players. Zero mercy.

Then the moment of madness. Ferati turned his defender, and out of nowhere the NeoCats player grabbed him by the shoulder and ripped his shirt.

The game boiled.

They tried to take players out. They missed every tackle.

We stayed calm. They got frustrated.

Halftime arrived like a whistle of relief.

Halftime chat:

Keep going. Keep defending. Keep the clean sheet.

Second Half – Control, Composure, and One Slip

Dan turned into a brick wall. Nothing went past him.

Not a single clear chance given. Rosso Nero FC slowed the tempo, controlled possession, and managed the game like a team with a full bench — even though we had none.

Eight minutes in, after wave after wave of pressure and multiple saves from the NeoCats keeper, we finally broke through for 9–0.

Then came the only blemish.

A rare miscommunication at the back:

Christian played a short pass across goal as Cj pushed wide for space.

The ball rolled 30cm in front of Christian — straight to NeoCats.

Open goal.

First shot hit the post. Cj scrambled back, but the rebound was tapped in. 9–1 Annoying.

But not dangerous. We settled again, controlled the ball, and took the sting out. Then with 3:30 left, the same NeoCats player who ripped Ferati’s shirt grabbed him again — this time around the neck.

A choke hold.

Yellow card.

Two‑minute power play. With the man advantage, we attacked relentlessly and finally buried our 10th with 2:30 to go. Ferati rotated into goals, Cj got a run on the pitch, and the boys closed out the match professionally.

Full‑Time – Five Players, One Statement

With no subs, Rosso Nero FC:

Controlled the tempo

Managed the game

Defended as a unit

Took their chances

Showed heart, grit, and identity

This wasn’t just a win. It was a statement.

Rosso Nero FC 10 – 1 NeoCats.

Team spirit on full display.

A reminder of exactly what we’re made of.
