Rosso Nero FC Secures Second Place Finish with Final Game Victory!
We wrapped up our regular season with a hard-fought victory in sweltering conditions, securing our spot in the top 4 and finishing in a fantastic second place!
Knowing we were already playoff-bound, the team took a cautious approach in the extreme heat (35+ degrees!), prioritising player safety ahead of the upcoming finals.
Despite the scorching temperatures, the team had a winning vibe with the return of Nathan Hanna to the lineup. This positive energy translated into an early lead, with Seb unleashing a long-range right-footed rocket and Alex quickly adding a second goal.
Thanks to some crucial saves from Danny, we maintained our two-goal advantage heading into halftime. We even managed to sneak in a third goal before the opposition responded with one of their own.
The second half saw some tough tackles flying, including a nasty challenge on Alex that sidelined him for several minutes. However, Rosso Nero FC maintained composure and controlled the final five minutes of the game, expertly retaining possession to close out the match. The final goal came from Nuno, a side-kick that the opposing keeper managed to get a touch on before it found the back of the net.
Final score: 4-1 to Rosso Nero FC! This win cements our second-place finish and propels us into the semi-finals!
