Game 12 had a bit of everything — a full squad finally, a statement performance, and an emotional send-off for Seb.
For the first time this season we rolled in with a full line-up, with Gabe returning from injury, and you could feel it straight away. Everyone had a spark. Coming up against our old GF enemies, Lalyana Pyjamas, there was no way anyone was turning up to lose.
The first half was tight and physical. Plenty of body, plenty of noise. But we kept our heads, stuck to our game, and moved the ball left to right patiently. When the chance came, we took it clinically to open the scoring. Lalyana pushed hard, but defensively we were rock solid, and CJ between the sticks made sure nothing got through. Under sustained team pressure we struck again — a cracking team goal, finished off beautifully, to make it two.
Things got fiery late in the half, with Lalyana ramping up the physicality. Nuno copped a head knock and was forced off, and not long after Marcus had to depart with knee concerns. A tough end to an otherwise strong half.
The second half saw Nuno recover and return, and Gabe stepped up with a massive role — man marking their main player. What followed was elite. Clean tackles, sharp interceptions, goals at the other end, and plenty of chat to go with it. Gabe got completely under his skin, to the point where the opposition resorted to manhandling him, giving away free after free.
Even four goals up, Rosso Nero FC didn’t ease off. The pressure stayed on right until the final whistle, ensuring a well-earned clean sheet. Dan finished with a bag, Gabe matched him, and the result was capped off by an outstanding all-round team effort.
A special mention to Seb in his farewell game — a fitting performance to send him off the right way. (Hopefully we see Seb back wearing our badge in the future).
Fingers crossed Marcus pulls up for next week 🤞
Highlights are up on YouTube.
See you next week 🖤❤️
