To our dedicated supporters, members, and the wider community.
This isn't an easy announcement to make, but due to an unprecedented run of injuries and unforeseen circumstances, our team will be taking a necessary short break from competition, effective immediately.
The last season truly took its toll, and unfortunately, those challenges have carried over into this one with a vengeance.
We're currently down to just two fit players on our roster, making it impossible to field a competitive team for the coming weeks.
Here's a snapshot of our current casualty ward:
The Ienco Brothers: Have unfortunately had to step away for a period to attend to family in Italy. We wish them all the best.
Dan: Facing a significant setback with a shoulder operation. His recovery will be a long road, and we'll be supporting him every step of the way.
Nuno: Sidelined with a troublesome ankle injury that requires time to heal properly.
Danny: Dealing with a persistent groin injury that has ruled him out for the foreseeable future.
Ant: Also unfortunately out of action due to a knee injury.
This extraordinary list, combined with the general wear and tear of a demanding season, has left us in an untenable position.
After careful consideration, we've made the difficult decision to step off the field for a few weeks to allow our players to recover, rehabilitate, and return stronger and healthier.
We know this news will be disappointing, but the welfare of our players is paramount.
We believe this brief hiatus is essential to ensure we can return later in the season with a full, healthy, and competitive squad.
What to Expect in the Coming Weeks:
While we won't be on the field, we'll still be connected! Over the next few weeks, we'll be diving into the archives and posting some of our favourite old highlights and classic moments on our YouTube channel. It's a chance to relive the good times and get excited for when we return.
We will keep our supporters updated regularly on the progress of our injured players and provide clear timelines for when the team will retake to the field. Your patience and continued support mean the world to us during this challenging period.
Thank you for your understanding. We look forward to seeing you all back at the games when we return revitalised and ready to compete.
Rosso Nero Family Club.
