Rd 11: So close!

Another week, another reshuffled lineup for Rosso Nero FC! With Anthony at soccer training and CJ still recovering, we took to the field with just six players.
From the first whistle, our boys looked determined to dictate the game. We started strong, creating early chances, but a controversial free kick decision went against us, leading to the opposition's opening goal. A quick second goal for them followed, amidst more handball appeals from our side that weren't heeded.
But our team dug deep! We settled into a rhythm, dominating possession with around 85% of the ball for the remainder of the match. This control translated into a barrage of opportunities, with Seb setting up Dan for a spectacular top-corner finish!
At halftime, we trailed 2-1. The message was clear: keep the one-two passes going (even if they were going backwards at times!) and have Nathan man-mark their key player.
The second half saw wave after wave of Rosso Nero attacks. We created chance after chance, only to be denied by an in-form opposition keeper, the woodwork, or just a whisker of inaccuracy. From the sidelines, the number of attempts was simply staggering!
Unfortunately, the game ended with a 2-1 defeat and a late injury to Danny in goals, potentially sidelining him for a week or two.
Despite the loss, the team's spirit and relentless attacking play were fantastic. The highlights are available on YouTube – check them out!
See you all next week!
