Rosso Nero FC – Round 21 Weekly Update
v Seaspray Goose
This week brought a familiar opponent — Seaspray Goose for the second time in three weeks, despite not facing them once all season before that. With finals on the line and the ladder tighter than ever, every moment mattered.
We also celebrated a massive milestone: Nuno’s 50th game for Rosso Nero FC. A warrior, a leader, and a heartbeat of the team.
A late curveball hit pre‑game with Jon heading off on a last‑minute family trip, but Brett stepped in seamlessly to complete the lineup:
Cj, Dan, Gabe, Marcus, Nuno, Brett
With two games left and the top four separated by a whisker, the equation was simple:
Win, and we secure a semi‑final spot with a game in hand. Slip up, and finals hopes hang by a thread.

First Half – Pressure, Poise, and Pure Class
Seaspray came out firing — relentless tackles, high pressing, and no breathing room. But Rosso Nero FC didn’t flinch. Calm passing, smart movement, and patience paid off as our first real chance hit the back of the net. 1–0 up.
For the next seven minutes, both teams traded pressure without clear chances. Then, after a promising attack from us, we were caught out the back in a 3‑v‑1. The shot slipped past Cj as his foot got caught underneath him. 1–1 with five minutes left.
No panic. No hesitation.
What followed was vintage Rosso Nero FC.
Clean one‑touch passing. Sharp movement. Ruthless finishing.
Bang. Bang. Bang.
Gabe. Nuno. Marcus.
Three goals in a flash and suddenly we were flying into halftime 4–1 up.

Half‑Time Message
Keep it clean.
Keep it simple.
Keep moving.
Keep defending.

Second Half – A 16‑Minute Arm Wrestle
The second half was a war of pressure. Both sides created chances, both keepers made big saves, and tackles got heavier as the clock ticked. Neither team wanted to give an inch.
For 16 straight minutes it was pure intensity — attack, defend, repeat — as we worked to lock the game away.
The final minute brought chaos. Seaspray fired one last shot. Cj couldn’t reach it but knew it was drifting wide… until Dan, in a desperate recovery, tripped and nudged it into the net for an own goal. A true Salami moment.
But with only ten seconds left, it didn’t matter. The job was done.

Finals Bound
With the win, Rosso Nero FC sits 4th, three points clear of 5th with a 30‑goal buffer.
We officially lock in a semi‑final spot with one game to spare.
Next week we face 3rd‑placed Ravioli.
A win could push us into 2nd or 3rd.
A draw or loss keeps us 4th.
Everything to play for.

Congratulations Nuno – 50 Games
A huge milestone for a huge contributor.
Here’s to many more.
