2nd game for the year and this week we had our normal 6 players. For 2 players (Alex and Cj) this was the first game for the year and 1st game in 6 weeks. On a 40 Degree day, that was just what the doctored ordered... NOT.
Top of the table clash 1 v 2. Winner was taking top spot.
The game started with Rosso Nero FC kicking off and from the get go, the game play was going to be slow (due to the heat)... We started off well retaining the ball amd moving around... Making inroads to Ravioli's close man marking. After 5 minutes Ravioli stole the ball in our half and quickly countered for the opening goal. The game was tight throughout and tough for either side to get any good shots off. We managed an excellent long range effort from Seb but the keeper managed to get a finger to save.
Another quick counter and goal meant Rosso Nero FC were 2 down after 10 minutes and shortly Cj marking Raviolis most dangerous player couldn't reach the ball going cross goals which lead to a 3rd.
Before half time Alex assisted Nuno for Rosso Nero FC First goal. Neatly tucked away from Nuno in the top corner.
2nd half was even tighter but this time Ravioli's keeper made save after save after save keeping them in the led. First save from Seb, another long range effort going top corner, then a 1 v 1 with seb with Seb and Cj combing infrastructure of goals for a 1,2 pass and then another from Seb, this time mid range shot going inside the post... the next one the keeper didn't save, but a low hard cross goal shot from Seb beat the keeper but didn't beat the upright. It was hard to watch the goals not go in.
A 4th went in from another counter, although this goal should have been disallowed as the scorer slide to hit the ball in and the final goal had a minute left with no one defending for Rosso Nero FC.
All in all, great game, hard fort and an excellent hit out. This loss means we slip to 2nd on the ladder.
