Round 4 - Game 1 Missed chances

New week, new line-up!

This week saw some exciting changes for Rosso Nero FC, with Jayden making his debut for the team — welcome aboard! Unfortunately, we were missing Nuno, who was away attending to family matters.

We also rolled out a new kit, officially switching to our red stripes as the primary strip, with the black Umbro now set as our backup.

⚽ Match Recap: Rosso Nero FC vs Merendinho

Rosso Nero FC got off to a flying start, opening the scoring just 8 minutes in after some brilliant ball movement and possession play.

However, football can be unpredictable — just five minutes later, the bounce of the ball turned against us, and suddenly we found ourselves 2–1 down.

The lads held their nerve, though, and we equalised before halftime to make it 2–2 at the break.

🔥 Second Half Battle

The second half saw Rosso Nero FC take control once again — dominating possession, moving the ball beautifully, and creating chance after chance. The opposition keeper was in top form, denying us repeatedly with some outstanding saves.

Eventually, our persistence paid off as we took a 3–2 lead. But, as in the first half, the game turned quickly — a deflected pass gave the opposition a one-on-one with our keeper, and they made it 3–3.

We kept pushing and even thought we had a fourth after a quickly taken free kick, only for the referee to call it back as the wall wasn’t set. Unfortunately, that moment seemed to shift momentum, and a few defensive lapses led to two late goals.

Final score: Rosso Nero FC 3 – 5 Merendinho

🎯 Summary

A tough result in our first game of the season, but plenty of positives to take away — strong possession, great team movement, and relentless attacking play. It was simply a game of missed chances this week.
