Round 4 - Rough as gut

Round 4 started with Seb missing due to exams, CJ under an injury cloud and the dads ready for bed due to the late late kick off... Gabe organised 2 players to cover.

With the team roxking up half a sleep amd not know who the opposition were, it was a surprise when we noticed the team, knowing we were in for a rough game.

From the kick off the tackles were hard and directed at the player not the ball, which throw Rosso Nero FC off their game slightly. CJ started the game but last 5 minutes before subbing off for the game with a tight calf.

Game play was even between the two teams although rough tackles and player mandling was a theme from the opposition. The first goal came against the run of play and off a corner and sloppy defending as such it became a tap in for the opposition. Within minutes we scored an equaliser from a right footed bullet from Ben (our fillin covering CJ). With 5 minutes left in the half another silly error in defence (sloppy pass) lead to the opposition scoring again.

Second half again Rosso Nero FC dominated the opening period and another equalising goal from Ben scored perfectly with lovely one, two passing from team mates. This goal led to more mandling from the opposition and the referee warning anymore will be sent off...

Again against the run of play sloppy define from a corner led to another fluke tap in for the opposition. And with 5 minutes remaining Alex sent a cross court pass short allowing for a one touch finish with Danny out of goals. This meant Rosso Nero FC were two done with 5 minutes remaining. Again Rosso Nero FC dominated the ball and possession and had shot after shot on goal only for the opposition keeper to be on form. We managed to break through amd score a 3rd from Gabe but unfortunately it was a little to late.

We went down 4 goals to 3.

See you all next week.
