Round 9....

We're do we start???

Last week Nuno advised he had family commitments, which we organised Gianluca to cover for him and then the morning of the game we had Seb advised he couldn't play for family reasons and Alex then advised he couldn't play due to study... leaving Rosso Nero FC 2 players short with 4 hours before kickoff...

In comes the man of the hour Gabe with an extra player (Jamie) and Nathan Hanna dusted off his retirement shoes yet again and played...

Once the game started the team weren't switched on and within minutes we were 1 goal down... what this go did do was switched the team on. From here Rosso Nero FC dominated the play and possession. When we didn't have the ball, the pressure was on and the ball was turned over and retaken back. The pressure led to a counter attack which Gabe ran down the wing with the ball with goals in his sight he was fouled from behind which lead to a free kick. While Gabe was discussing the free kick with Gianluca, CJ called Nathan aka 'Free kickmastro' on from the bench, he turned to Gabe and said leave this to Nathan...

Nathan stepped up, lined up the goals and in a flash the ball was in the net. Nathan celebrated and said Cj sub back on... it was a super sub and a master stroke. This goal opened up the game and opposition. Which led to goals to Ant, Gianluca, Jamie and Cj. It meant Rosso Nero FC went into half time 5 goals to 1 up.

Danny's half time speech was simple. DON'T STOP, KEEP THE PRESSURE UP AND SCORE.

And this is what Rosso Nero FC did. From the kick off more goals to Jamie, Gianluca, Cj and Nathan. In no time, Rosso Nero FC were 9 goals to 1. This led to a drop off in pressure from Rosso Nero FC which allowed a couple of goals agisnt. But again this spurred the team on and boy did the team turn on. It was like Rosso Nero FC turned into the basketball Harlem Globetrotters... With 1 touch passing and 1, 2 switching of plays and flick assists, the team put on a show. Again goals to Nathan for his hatrick, was a lovely 1 touch team pass' and a final through ball which Nathan slides into the bottom corner. Then Jamie who had a princess touch all night, twinkle toed around 2 players had a 1, 2 pass with Cj and then hand his back heal shot go in for his hatrick and then Jamie become provider for Cj who had a neat finish pass the keeper for his hatrick.

The end result was 12 goals to 3. Yet their was alot of flair and much to like about the game play and goals from Rosso Nero FC.
