Round 9 - The return of Seb

Round 9 saw us celebrating Seb's return to the squad and Ant's 51st game in our Rosso Nero colours! With Danny away on holiday, Nathan stepped up to fill the gloves in goal this week.

From the first whistle, the team was on fire, moving the ball well and maintaining possession. We unfortunately conceded the first goal, but the team didn't panic. We kept our heads and stayed calm, which led to Rosso Nero FC scoring the next two goals.

From a goal kick, Nathan laid the ball off to CJ, but CJ, playing with a tight calf, wasn't able to get away quickly enough. The opposition pounced and managed to sneak in a goal. Again, the team remained calm and steadied the ship, with an excellent goal from our keeper, Nathan, from halfway!

We went into halftime with a 3-2 lead. From the kickoff, we took control by retaining the ball and controlling the tempo of the game. Eventually, we scored a 4th from a well-worked team goal. From there, we managed the game well, not allowing the opposition many chances.

The opposition did score a 3rd from a long throw from their keeper, catching Nathan out of position, but it wasn't enough. The end result was a 4-3 win to Rosso Nero FC!

Next week, many of our players are away on holiday, so we're hoping to scrape together a team.

See you all next week, and highlights are available on YouTube.
