Semi Final Thriller - Rosso Nero FC v NeoCats

Semi final week. Everything on the line.

A forced change to the line-up saw Nuno ruled out with a back injury, but Cody stepped in to ensure we still had 7 strong—and what a game he walked into.

From the opening whistle, this was easily game of the year.

Both teams came out firing. High intensity, relentless pressure, and not a single moment on the ball uncontested. Every tackle had purpose, every run had intent. It was end-to-end football at its absolute best.

NeoCats controlled more of the possession, but Rosso Nero FC looked dangerous every time we went forward—creating the clearer chances. Both keepers were outstanding, but the NeoCats keeper in particular was pulling off saves that simply can’t be described.

First Half

The deadlock finally broke 11 minutes in.

A short corner routine led to a mistimed shot that slipped through legs, catching CJ off guard. He reacted late, getting both foot and hand to it, but unfortunately deflecting it into the corner.

1–0 NeoCats.

Rosso Nero responded immediately, creating two huge chances from point-blank range—but somehow, unbelievably, both were kept out.

With 5 minutes remaining, NeoCats struck again. A long counter ball over the top saw CJ come out to claim it, but just as it reached his hands, a toe poked it around him.

2–0 NeoCats.

Stunned. Confused. Wondering how we were behind.

Half Time Message

The message was simple:

“We’ve had the better chances. Stay composed, press high, and take our chances.”

Second Half Fightback

The response was everything you’d want.

The boys dug deep—pressing hard, giving NeoCats no time or space. Every challenge mattered.

NeoCats nearly made it three, but Dan came flying in from nowhere with a massive defensive block to keep us alive.

That moment sparked something.

From a quick transition, Gabe spotted the keeper off his line and fired from halfway—catching everyone by surprise.

2–1. Game on. 9 minutes left.

NeoCats pushed for a third, but that only opened the door for counters.

With 3 minutes remaining, Rosso Nero worked the ball brilliantly, switching play and stretching the defence. NeoCats lost focus for just a moment—and that was enough.

Cody stepped up and buried a low shot into the bottom corner.

2–2.

Final Minutes & Extra Time

The final minutes were chaos—chances at both ends.

CJ made multiple key stops, while Dan and Gabe both went close.

Full time: 2–2.

We head to extra time.

Extra Time Drama

Three minutes. Everything to play for.

Rosso Nero had momentum—wave after wave of attack. Again, the NeoCats keeper somehow kept them in it with unbelievable saves.

With 30 seconds remaining, NeoCats had their chance—but CJ stood tall and denied them.

Then came the moment.

A lightning counter attack led to a blocked shot out for a side kick. Taken quickly, the ball bounced awkwardly to Dan.

No hesitation. Left foot. Strike.

Goal.

3–2 Rosso Nero FC.

10 seconds left. NeoCats restart… one last push… but the buzzer sounds.

FULL TIME

Rosso Nero FC 3 – 2 NeoCats

A stunning comeback.

A semi final for the ages.

The bench erupted. Supporters on their feet. Pure scenes.

The Takeaway

This was more than just a win.

It was:

Team spirit

Belief

Resilience

Never giving up

Sticking to the plan. Trusting each other. And delivering when it mattered most.
